Bartholomew Earns Weekly Conference Honor

Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week after breaking his own school record and qualifying for the NCAA Regional meet in the hammer throw last weekend.

The junior tossed the hammer 191'2" at the Puma Invitational, surpassing the qualifying standard by nearly nine feet and bettering his own school record by 19 inches. Bartholomew also captured top honors in the discus with an effort of 162'6", the best mark in the event by a Mid-Con athlete this season. Also, competing for the first time in a collegiate meet in the javelin throw, he placed second with a mark of 163'5".
