Crusader men record 10 top-10 finishes at Boilermaker Invite
Ryan Moore's men's track and field squad recorded 10 top-10 finishes at the Boilermaker Invitational.

The Valparaiso men’s track team recorded 10 top-10 finishes at the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. on Saturday.

Antwon Hatchett (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) placed fourth in the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:27.52. Tyler Crum (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) took 10th in the same race (1:29.76). Crum also anchored the 1600-meter relay team with took sixth (3:31.88).

Austin Palombizio (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) finished sixth in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in a time of 1:59.77.

In field events, Elijah Owen (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte) had three top-10 finishes. He placed fourth in the triple jump (38’8 ¼”), eighth in the high jump (5’10 ¾”) and 10th in the long jump (19’5 ¼”).

Barrett Rehm (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) finished eighth in the pole vault, clearing 13’7 ¼”.

In the weight throw, Jacob Frey (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) was ninth (49’2 ¼”) and Ryan Stegenga (South Holland, Ill./Illiana Christian) was 10th (46’3 ½”).

The Crusaders next take to the track Saturday, Feb. 23 for day one of the Horizon League Championships in Youngstown, Ohio.
