Lee Places 25th in Long Jump at NCAA Regionals

Valparaiso University's Joshua Lee (Yellow Jacket, Colo./Montezuma-Cortez H.S.) concluded the 2004-2005 athletic season for the Crusaders on Friday evening, finishing in 25th place at the NCAA MidEast Regional Championships held in Bloomington, Ind.

Lee, the Mid-Continent Conference long jump champion, turned in a best mark of 22'1 ½" (6.74m) on his second attempt of the meet. He turned in a mark of 21'8 ¼" (6.61m) on his first jump and fouled on his final try. The senior entered the competition seeded 31st in the field of 32 jumpers and moved up several places in the final standings.

The long jump began on Friday night and Lee completed all of his jumps before the event was suspended due to thunderstorms in the Bloomington area. The event was completed on Saturday afternoon.
