Three second half goals by Detroit led the host Titans to a 3-0 victory over Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon in Detroit, Mich.
The game was scoreless at halftime, despite Detroit holding a 14-1 advantage on shots against the Crusaders. The Titans found the back of the net just 1:42 into the second half as Vahid Assadpour scored from the middle of the box.
Five minutes later, Andrew Ornoch scored on a give-and-go from Ablaye Camara to increase the lead to two. Detroit's final goal came at the 87:40 mark of the match as Camara chipped the ball into the net from in front.
The Titans outshot Valpo 25-6 for the match, and held a 15-4 advantage on goal. Jeff Oleck (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral H.S.) made ten saves for the Crusaders, while Ryan Mendonca made three stops for Detroit (1-2-1).
Nate Hyde (South Bend, Ind./Clay H.S.) tallied three of Valpo's six shots.
The Crusaders (0-4) will return to action on Friday afternoon when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for a 4 p.m. CDT match with Ohio State.
