The Valparaiso University track and field team closed out the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas on Saturday. Senior Andrew Guzek (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) led the way for the Crusaders with an eighth-place finish in the men’s shot put in Saturday’s action. 

How It Happened

• Guzek went 49 feet, 9¾ inches with his effort in the shot put. He finished the meet in eighth place overall.
• Senior Ben Zibricky (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way Central) ran the 800-meter run after competing in the Texas Relays on Thursday. He crossed the finish line in 1:57.51, placing him 20^th.
• In the 200-meter dash, sophomore Ben Sekuloski (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) finished in 17^th with a time of 22.02.

The Crusaders will continue the outdoor portion of their season when they head back to the Hoosier State next weekend, April 6-7, to participate in the Gibson Invitational, hosted by Indiana State.
