Valparaiso junior Sarah Drozdowski (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) was named Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week after a pair of top-five finishes at the Redbird Open on Saturday.                                                   

Drozdowski’s mark in the weight throw of 16.75 m was a season-best and good enough for fourth place. It was also the third-best distance in school history.

She also finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 12.22 m.                                               

The track and field teams return to action at the Bob Eubanks Open on Friday, Jan. 11 in Allendale, Mich.
