Valparaiso University women's tennis player Christina Scala was named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week following her undefeated weekend.

The native of Glenview, Ill. dropped just one game in three victories at third singles, and also registered three doubles wins. The sophomore was a 6-0, 6-0 victor against both UMKC and Chicago State, while posting a 6-0, 6-1 win against Oakland.

In doubles action, Scala teamed with Monika Danko at the top spot for a 8-0 victory against UMKC, and 8-3 and 8-4 wins against Chicago State and Oakland respectively.

Scala finished the fall season with five straight victories, and wins in six of her final seven matches.
