Valparaiso University's Mara Sonkin (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South H.S.) has been named Mid-Continent Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

The junior was a 6-0, 6-1 victor against Detroit at number one singles on Friday helping the Crusaders to a 6-1 team victory. On Saturday, Sonkin teamed with Patricia Arakaki to register Valpo's lone victory against Dayton, 9-8 at second doubles.
