Ann Caley's penalty kick goal 7:11 into overtime lifted Northern Iowa to a 2-1 victory over Valparaiso on Friday evening in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The Crusaders found the scoreboard first as Allison Swanson (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley H.S.) tallied her first goal of the season at the 31:54 mark on an assist from Lindsay Holley (Waldorf, Md./Westlake H.S.).

The Panthers tied the match at the 52:15 mark in the second half on a Jillian Carroll goal, setting the stage for overtime and Caley's match-winner.

Danielle Guerra (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) made four stops in goal for Valpo (0-6) while Anne-Marie Witko made five saves for Northern Iowa (6-1). The Panthers outshot the Crusaders 14-12 for the match.

Valpo will return to action on Sunday afternoon when the Crusaders travel to Drake for a 1 p.m. match.
