Valparaiso's women's track and field team was represented in a pair of races at the Drake Relays on Thursday and Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Elizabeth Whiting (Parma, Mich./Western H.S.) finished in 20th place in the 10,000m run on Thursday afternoon with a time of 38:30.94.

The Crusaders distance medley earned an 18th place finish on Friday afternoon. The team of Rachel Nelson (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit H.S.), Maggie Zellner (Downers Grove, Ill./Benet Academy), Amy Mikel (Lemont, Ill./Fenwick H.S.), and Jobeth Schmiesing (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West H.S.) crossed the finish line in a time of 12:24.31.

The rest of the Crusaders will take part in the Puma Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Rensselaer, Ind. beginning at 10 a.m.
