Tom Starck, a senior lefthander, was named Mid-Continent Conference Pitcher of the Week after hurling a complete-game, three-hit 8-1 victory against Butler.

One of last season's Mid-Con Pitcher's of the Year, Starck allowed no earned runs, while striking out eight and walking three. He lowered his ERA to 2.96, which ranks sixth-best in the Mid-Con. Starck, from Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph's, carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and retired 10 batters in a row during one stretch.

Starck won Mid-Con Pitcher of the Week honors twice last season.
