Valparaiso's softball team split the final two games of the Sycamore Classic held in Terre Haute, Ind. on Sunday.

In the opener against Indiana State, the Sycamores scored in the top of the seventh to defeat the Crusaders 6-5.

Valpo rebounded in game two though, revenging a Saturday loss against Eastern Illinois to defeat the Panthers 5-2.

Valparaiso opened its season 2-3 this weekend, and will head to the Southeast Missouri State Tournament next weekend.
