Valparaiso University's Jennifer Bartels (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) has been named Mid-Continent Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Crusaders to their first victory of the season.

The freshman scored twice on Sunday against Eastern Illinois in Valpo's 3-2 overtime victory. Her first tally tied the match at one, while the second goal put the Brown and Gold in front after her header from a corner kick in the 57th minute. She tallied four shots in the match, three on net.
