Valparaiso's women finished in a tie for fifth place at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships held Saturday afternoon in West Lafayette, Ind.

The Crusaders totaled 71 points, tying Butler for the fifth spot. Purdue was the team champion with 840 points.

Valpo had just two top-15 finishers on the afternoon.

Rachel Korellis (Champaign, Ill./Centennial H.S.) turned in a 13th place finish in the 100 butterfly. The freshman touched the wall in a time of 1:03.07.

Lauren Bambach (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman H.S.) placed 14th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.87.

The Crusaders will return to the pool next weekend at the Eastern Illinois Invitational. Friday's events begin at 5 p.m. and Saturday's competition begins at 8 a.m. in Charleston, Ill.
