Valparaiso University's Britt Nelson (Cortland, N.Y./Homer H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week after winning three individual victories last weekend at the Eastern Illinois Invitational.

The junior opened with a win in the 500 freestyle by more than 11 seconds with a time of 5:17.14. She then won by five seconds in the 200 free in 2:00.42. She finished the meet with a convincing win in the mile. Her time of 18:11.19 was more than 22 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.

Nelson helped Valpo to a second place finish in the meet.
