Valparaiso dropped a dual meet against Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon, falling 144-82 in Charleston, Ill.

The Crusaders won four races on the afternoon in the 13 events. Travers Smith (Huntley, Ill./Huntley H.S.) posted a win with a time of 53.12 seconds in the 100 butterfly. He then followed that up with a three-second win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.02 seconds.

David Peterson (Schererville, Ind./Highland H.S.) also was a double-winner. He posted a ten-second triumph in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:20.61. He also tallied a two-second win in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:00.44.

Valpo (2-5) will head to Cleveland, Ohio next Saturday afternoon to battle Cleveland State. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CST.
