Manthei Earns Player of the Week Honors

Ryan Manthei (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week after his impressive performance in Valpo's season-opening series.

After missing the opener, Manthei burst out in a big way in Saturday's matchup against Austin Peay. The junior infielder crushed two home runs on his way to going 3-for-4 on the day, scoring four runs in the process. He also accounted for one hit and an RBI in Sunday's series finale against the Governors.

For the week, Manthei hit .571 (4-for-7), scored four runs, drove in three tallies, and added a stolen base.
