The Mid-Continent Conference has honored junior David Peterson (Schererville, Ind./Highland H.S.) as Athlete of the Week following his impressive performance at last weekend's Panther Invitational.

Peterson led the Crusaders to a fourth-place finish at the Panther Invitational, capturing three individual races. He started off the meet with a winning time of 1:59.40 in the 200 individual medley. Peterson then dominated the breaststroke events, winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.90 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.70. He was also a part of Valpo's 400 medley relay team, which finished second.

This is the second Mid-Con award this season for Peterson, who has totaled five such honors throughout his career.
