Valpo Falls 4-0 at Toledo

Four second half goals, three in the final 18 minutes helped lead Toledo to a 4-0 victory over Valparaiso on Friday afternoon at Scott Park in Toledo, Ohio.

Both teams registered five shots in the first half, but neither team could find the back of the net.

Elizabeth Marchand broke the scoreless tie at the 56:44 mark scoring off of a corner from Suzi Siwinski. The Rockets added a second goal at the 72:06 mark as Diana Ginley scored and Sarah Schulte tacked on a third goal exactly seven minutes later. Kelly Langenbeck capped off the scoring at 80:11 after receiving a feed from Diana Ginley.

Toledo (3-1) outshot Valpo 10-7 for the match and held an 8-2 advantage on net. Erin Murray (Pleasanton, Calif./Amador Valley H.S.) made four stops for the Crusaders while Jen Whipple stopped both shots she saw in goal.

Valparaiso (3-2) will look to return to the victory column on Sunday afternoon as the Crusaders head to Cleveland, Ohio to battle the Vikings of Cleveland State. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CDT.
