The Mid-Continent Conference has named Ashley Billstrom (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall H.S.) Athlete of the Week after her record-setting performance at the Louisiana Classics.

The junior earned the honors, the first such award of her career, after taking top honors in the 3,000m steeplechase. Billstrom covered the course in 11:14.50, breaking the previous school record by more than eight seconds. She bested her competition by 37.5 seconds while setting a personal best by 10 seconds.
