Dan Oppland (Saint Louis, Mo./Whitfield), who enjoyed one of the most prolific careers in Valpo history, has signed a contract to play professionally for the Hanzevast Capitals in The Netherlands.

Based in the city of Groningen, the Capitals compete in the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB), the premier Dutch basketball league.

Oppland finished his four-year Crusader career this spring with a third consecutive All-Conference selection, finishing third in the Mid-Con in scoring (19.8 points per game) and second in rebounding (8.0 per game). For his career, Oppland totaled 1,780 points and 782 rebounds, both ranking third all-time in school history.
