The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that Valparaiso's men's and women's cross country teams have each earned All-Academic team honors. In addition, Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest) received All-Academic individual accolades for her athletic and academic performance this past fall.

To be eligible for team honors, teams were required to compete in an NCAA regional meet and have at least a 3.0 cumulative team grade point average in the 2006 fall semester. The Crusader men were among 86 Division I teams honored, recording a GPA of 3.019 during the fall semester. Valpo's women were one of 145 Division I squads to receive team honors, finishing 10th in the nation with a 3.587 team GPA in the fall.

Rolf was one of 76 Division I women to earn individual honors. To receive the All-Academic individual accolades, runners were required to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and also place in the top 15 or top 10 percent of an NCAA regional meet.
