            Valparaiso University’s Kim Sajevic (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury H.S.) has been named the U.S. Army Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week for her efforts last week.

            The junior posted a 2-1 record at first singles for the Brown and Gold with victories against Adelphi and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.  Sajevic also teamed with Julie Wingstrom (Dallas Lake, Ind./Westview H.S.) for a pair of victories at number two doubles against the same schools.

            In the classroom, Sajevic has a 3.85 grade point average as an electrical engineering major.  A two-time member of the Mid-Continent Conference’s All-Academic Team and a member of the Mid-Con Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence, she has been a member of Valpo’s Dean’s List every semester.  In addition, Sajevic was named to the Horizon League’s Academic Honor Roll this past fall.
