UIC allowed Valparaiso to win a total of just nine games on Friday afternoon while remaining atop the Horizon League defeating the Crusaders 7-0 at Matchpoint Tennis Club.

The Flames (10-5, 4-0 Horizon League) won two of the three doubles matches 8-0, with Valpo's Kim Sajevic (Woodbury,  Minn./Woodbury H.S.) and Julie Wingstrom (Dallas Lake, Ind./Westview H.S.) taking two games from Ulrikke von Ubisch and Grace Gill-Morlis at the second spot in falling 8-2.

Jenny Schwartz (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora H.S.) played the tightest singles contest for the Crusaders, falling 6-2, 6-2 to Lubica Nadasska at number two singles.  UIC won three matches 6-0, 6-0, with Wingstrom falling at fourth singles 6-2, 6-0 to Gill-Morris.

Valparaiso (2-10, 0-4) will return to action on Saturday afternoon, facing Wright State in a 4 p.m. contest.  The match has been moved to Matchpoint Tennis Club due to the weather forecast.
