#1 Valparaiso enters the final day of action at the Prairie View A&M Invitational in Arlington, Texas in sixth place out of 12 comnpeting teams.

Saturday's action, contested in the traditional format, was highlighted for Valpo by the performance of senior Krystyna Johnson (Montgomery, Ill./Oswego East [Delaware State]), who led the Crusaders and ranked 11th in the tournament field with an average of 214.2 over the five games. Johnson's day was highlighted by a 266 in the finale, the best single-game performance by a Crusader this year.

But the rest of the Crusaders also had solid days as well, as Valpo averaged a 200.2 on the day. Amanda Cortese (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates [Central Missouri]) rolled three games of 200 or better, including a high of 247, while sister Natalie Cortese (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates [Central Missouri]) posted a high game of 235.

Bowling as a regular for the first time all season, Alyssa Alvarez (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) stepped in and averaged just a shade under 200, highlighted by a high game of 245. Perhaps most impressive was the performance of freshman Sadie Jasinski (Franklin, Wis./Franklin), as bowling for just the second time in her collegiate career, the rookie came in for the final game and threw a game of 238.

Valparaiso closes out the Prairie View A&M Invitational on Sunday morning.
