Tuesday, May 3, 2005
Valparaiso traveled to Wisconsin on Tuesday for a doubleheader only to see the Badgers sweep the twinbill 11-1 and 10-2.

Game one saw the Badgers jump in front quickly with two in the first and three more in the second. In the third, a bases loaded triple by Joey Daniels plated three runs and three Valpo errors in the inning contributed to a six-run Wisconsin frame.

The Crusaders scored their lone run in the fourth as Megan Carroll (Eaton Rapids, Mich./Eaton Rapids H.S.) doubled to lead off the inning and Shannon Robinson (Toronto, Ont./John Redmond H.S.) singled her home.

Daniels drove in four runs in the game for Wisconsin while Anastasia Miller brought home three more. Eden Brock limited Valpo to just four hits.

Valpo jumped in front in game two with two runs in the second. A pair of errors in the inning allowed Beth Adamski (Saint John, Ind./Lake Central H.S.) and Taylor Callahan (Grayson, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian H.S.) to score on a sacrifice bunt that was thrown into the outfield.

Wisconsin (27-21) answered with three in the bottom of the inning, two on a homerun by Miller. The Badgers added three more in the third as Natalie Phillips homered. After a single run in the fourth, Wisconsin closed the game on Kris Zacher's three-run roundtripper in the sixth.

Ann Sievert (Davenport, Iowa/Assumption H.S.) and Alicia Ashburn (Mishawaka, Ind./Mishawaka H.S.) tallied Valpo's lone hits in the game while Wisconsin pounded out 12.

Valparaiso (11-40-1) will close out the regular season on Thursday with a 5 p.m. game at Illinois-Chicago.
