McShane Earns All-Tournament Accolade; Mid-Week Postponement
Tarah McShane earned the All-Tournament honor.

Valparaiso softball junior Tarah McShane (Streamwood, Ill./St. Edward Central Catholic) was been named to the All-Tournament Team at the Rainbow Wahine Classic last weekend. Also Monday, head coach Jordan Stevens announced that Wednesday's scheduled home opener against Western Michigan has been postponed.

McShane tallied a base hit in the tournament opener for the Crusaders against James Madison and picked up a run-scoring hit versus #2/4 Oregon on Thursday. Then on Friday, the junior led the way in Valpo's win over BYU, knocking in a run with a single as part of a three-run fifth inning before stepping to the plate with the game tied in the seventh and connecting on a two-run homer to secure the 6-4 win.

Returning home from Hawaii, the Crusaders found that the Valparaiso University Softball Field is still showing the effects of the brutal winter, forcing the postponement of Wednesday's game against the Broncos. The teams will look to make up the game later in the spring. Valpo is now scheduled to return to the diamond this weekend for the start of Horizon League play at Youngstown State.
