The Valparaiso University softball team will truly come home on Friday afternoon as the Crusaders play their first game at the new Valparaiso University Softball Field.

The Crusaders (4-13, 0-0 Mid-Con) will host Southern Utah (11-13, 0-0) in a doubleheader for each school's Mid-Continent Conference opener.

The day will begin with the field's dedication ceremony beginning at 12:30 p.m. The first pitch of the twinbill is slated for 1:30 p.m.

The new field is located in the heart of Valparaiso's campus, north of the Student Union.
