Flames Silence Valpo Bats
Monday, April 19, 2004
Valparaiso tallied just three hits combined on Monday afternoon, dropping a doubleheader to Illinois-Chicago 15-0 and 8-0 in the Windy City.

The Flames scored eight times in the opening inning and six more in the second of the opener to break the game wide open.

Tricia Speziale was Valpo's lone baserunner against Alison Aguilar, notching a single in the opening inning and also drawing a walk. Aguilar struck out seven in her four innings of work.

Game two was scoreless for the first three innings, but three straight hits in the fourth plated two. After adding a run in the fifth, UIC (24-19) scored five times in the sixth, ending the game on a three-run homer by Amanda Rivera.

Valpo (13-23) will look to snap its eight-game losing skid on Tuesday afternoon, hosting IPFW in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
