The Crusader softball team will be hosting games at the Valparaiso University Softball Field each of the next five weekends as its 2008 fall schedule gets under way.

The fall slate kicks off this Saturday, September 6 as the Crusaders play host to Ancilla College for a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.  Saturday, September 13 sees St. Joseph’s (Ind.) come to town for a twinbill at 11 a.m.

The Crusaders will host the Aurelio’s Fall Classic on Saturday, September 20.  Bethel College will face IPFW at 10 a.m., and Bethel will turn right around to face Huntington University at 11:45 a.m.  IPFW and Huntington will matchup at 1:30 p.m.  Valpo will play in the final three games of the day, taking on Bethel at 3:15 p.m., Huntington at 5 p.m., and IPFW at 6:45 p.m.

The fall slate will continue the next Saturday, September 27 as Valpo welcomes St. Francis for a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.  The fall season concludes Saturday, October 4 as the Crusaders bring back former Valpo softball players for an Alumni Game at 1 p.m.

All games will be free of charge to the public.  The Crusaders are coming off a 2008 spring season where they won a school-record 30 games and led all Division I teams in stolen bases/game.
