Crusader Softball to Host Trio of Camps This Fall

The Valparaiso softball program, two-time defending Horizon League champions, will be holding one individual and two team camps this fall. The Crusaders' fall experience camp will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15 on campus, while Valpo will host an 18U/16U team camp Sept. 7-8 and a 14U/12U team camp Oct. 19-20 at Imagination Glen Park in Portage.

The fall experience camp, open to athletes in grades 9-12, is designed to allow participants to experience a day in the life of a Valpo softball player. The camp will feature three training sessions designed to specifically work on hitting, pitching or defense, as well as one classroom session to help athletes expand their knowledge of the game. Campers will also get a free t-shirt and free lunch, and will have the opportunity to play two games with and against other campers, officiated by certified umpires.

The cost of the fall experience camp is $130, and registration is limited to 64 total athletes on a first-come, first-served basis. It is also limited by position, and athletes must register by position.

Both the 18U/16U and 14U/12U team camps will guarantee participating teams at least four games. A college coach or player will be available to help instruct during two of each teams' games, while college coaches will be invited to the 18U/16U camp. The cost of each of the team camps is $475 per team.
