Mikos Named Titan Classic MVP, Norman also Named to All-Tournament Team

Valparaiso University's Liz Mikos (Dundee, Ill./Jacobs H.S.) was named Most Valuable Player of the Titan Classic and Cyndi Norman (Minooka, Ill./Minooka H.S.) also earned All-Tournament Team honors as the Crusaders won the event hosted by Cal State Fullerton.

Mikos hit .328 for the tournament with 33 kills (3.00/game) while recording 22 blocks (2.00/game), including six solos. She added three aces on the weekend. Against the host Titans, the sophomore tallied 13 kills and nine blocks, while adding nine kills and six blocks against Nevada.

Norman dished out 152 assists (11.69/game) for the Brown and Gold in guiding them to victory. She added 35 digs (2.69/game) and ten blocks (0.77/game). She tallied 45 assists in the win against Cal State Fullerton and 40 more against Fordham.

Joining Mikos and Norman on the All-Tournament Team were Roxanne Hill of Fordham, Tristin Adams and salaia Salave`a of Nevada, and Amy Dixon and Melanie Meister of Cal State Fullerton.

With the tournament victory, Valpo is off to its first 4-0 start in school history, and will return to action on Monday evening when they travel to UC Riverside for a 9 p.m. CDT match.
