The Valparaiso volleyball team dropped a four-game match to Oral Roberts Friday evening 32-30, 26-30, 30-27, 30-17 in Tulsa, Okla.

Heather Hynds (Sylvan Lake, Ill./Mundelein H.S.) led the Crusaders with 14 kills and a .414 hitting percentage, while Michelle Robinson (Bloomington, Ill./Normal H.S.) added 13 kills and Marion Hansen (Huntley, Ill./Huntley H.S.) added 12 more. Sara Silcox (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City H.S.) led the Brown and Gold with 17 digs, while Robinson chipped in 15 and Lindsey Moore (Wakarusa, Ind./Penn H.S.) had 14 for the Crusaders. Sarah Schmalz (Corona, Calif./Riverside Christian H.S) led the team with six blocks.

Ivana Placko led the Golden Eagles (8-6, 2-0 Mid-Con) with 15 kills and a .560 hitting percentage as Oral Roberts outhit Valpo .297-.199 for the match. Patricia Menezes had a match-high 16 kills, while Bechy Dreher added 26 digs.

Valparaiso (9-5, 1-1) will return to action on Saturday evening when they battle UMKC in Kansas City.
