Silcox Named Mid-Con Defensive Player of the Week

Valparaiso University's Sara Silcox (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a pair of Crusader victories last week.

The junior averaged 4.64 digs per game in three matches, and has now tallied 11 consecutive contests double-figure dig contests.

Silcox posted a match-high 21 digs in Valpo's loss to Loyola (Ill.) last Tuesday, but followed with 13 digs on Friday at Western Illinois and 17 at UMKC on Saturday.

This is the second time this season Silcox has received the honor, as she also was named Defensive Player of the Week on September 15.
