Pair of Crusaders Earn Preseason All-League Honors
Morgan Beil was one of two preseason All-League honorees.

Valparaiso placed a pair of players on the seven-member preseason All-Horizon League squad, as voted on by the league's head coaches and announced by the league today. Senior Ellen Vanden Berg (Little Chute, Wis./Little Chute) and junior Morgan Beil (St. Louis, Mo./Marquette) represented the preseason league favorites on the All-League team.

Vanden Berg earned postseason All-League accolades last season and was an AVCA Honorable Mention All-Midwest Region honoree after a breakout 2012 campaign. Vanden Berg led the Crusaders in kills (2.51/set), hitting percentage (.285) and blocks (1.13/set), ranking fourth in the league in blocks and sixth in hitting percentage.

Beil earned All-League honors for the second straight season in 2012, finishing tenth in the league with a .261 hitting percentage, trailing only Vanden Berg on the Crusader squad. She also ranked second on the team in kills (2.44/set) and third in blocks (0.67/set) as a sophomore.
