McCombs Departs Valpo for Assistant's Job at Pittsburgh

Valparaiso University associate head coach Caroline McCombs has resigned from her position at the university to take an assistant coaching job at the University of Pittsburgh.

McCombs had been a member of the Crusaders' staff for the past six years, serving as the recruiting coordinator since 2001. During her stay at Valpo, McCombs was instrumental in helping Valpo earn two Mid-Continent Conference Tournament titles, a Mid-Con regular season title, two NCAA Tournament appearances, along with a trip to the quarterfinals of the WNIT.

?For the past six years Caroline has poured her heart and soul into our program," head coach Keith Freeman said. ?During this time was have finished in the final eight of the WNIT and gone to two NCAA Tournaments. We appreciate her efforts at Valpo and wish her the best in her future endeavors."
