Valpo Women Look to "Pack the ARC" for Notre Dame, Host Purdue in a Doubleheader
Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Next Saturday’s (Dec. 13) Valparaiso women’s basketball game against Notre Dame has been selected as part of the NCAA’s “Pack the House Challenge”, an ongoing nationwide women's basketball attendance competition taking place throughout the season.

The Fighting Irish are currently ranked in the top-15 in the country and are making their first appearance at the ARC since 2006.

Tickets for the game are just $10, with children 10 and under being admitted free of charge.  The Valpo players will be signing autographs following the game, and giveaways will be handed out to the first 500 fans.

Nearly 300 of the nation's Division I women's basketball programs signed up to participate in the competition, including nine Horizon League. The premise for each participating institution - select a game/date at which an attempt is made to break your single-game all-time or 2007-08 season record. Based on the final results nationwide, 32 conference champions and one overall national champion will be determined by the NCAA.

In addition, tickets are still available for next Wednesday’s (Dec. 10) game against Purdue at the ARC.  Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and is part of a doubleheader as the men face IPFW 30 minutes following the completion of the women’s game.  Tickets for that doubleheader are just $10 as well, and the women’s ticket allows fans to sit in the mezzanine for the men’s game as well.
