Kulaga Earns Academic All-District Honors

            Valparaiso University’s Agnieszka Kulaga (Tarnow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace H.S.) has been named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Second Team which announced on Thursday.  The honor is voted upon by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

            Kulaga leads the Crusaders and ranks fifth in the Horizon League averaging 15.0 points per game.  The 5’6” guard also is fifth in the league in assists (3.75 apg) and 14th in rebounding (5.3 rpg).  In addition, Kulaga ranks sixth in the conference with 1.95 steals per night.  Earlier this season, the junior posted a triple double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists against Green Bay.  Twice Kulaga has earned Horizon League Player of the Week accolades.

            In the classroom, Kulaga has excelled, posting a 3.78 cumulative grade point average while majoring in international business.  A member of the Horizon League’s Fall Academic Honor Roll, she is a two-time Mid-Continent Conference All-Academic Team selection as well.

            To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, own a minimum grade-point average of 3.20, and be either a starter or key reserve.  District V consists of schools in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ontario, and Manitoba.
