Thursday, August 7, 2008

Valparaiso University head basketball coach Keith Freeman has announced that Meredith Baugher has submitted her resignation from the Crusader coaching staff.

Baugher will become an assistant coach at Youngstown State University.

“We appreciate Meredith’s hard work and dedication as a player and coach the last seven years,” said Freeman.  “We wish her well on her career path as a coach.”

Baugher began her stay at Valpo as a player from 2001-2005, helping lead the Crusaders to two NCAA Tournament appearances as well as a trip to the quarterfinals of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

Following her playing career, Baugher moved into a role as an assistant coach, a position she has had for three seasons.  Prior to the 2007-2008 season, Baugher was promoted to the team’s recruiting coordinator.

“Meredith will always be a part of the Valpo family,” concluded Freeman.
