Valpo's Hall of Fame to Induct Amber Schober on Saturday

Amber Schober ranks as one of the top all-around players ever on the hardwood for the Crusaders, and on Saturday afternoon will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Fifth all-time at Valpo in scoring with 1,273 career points, Schober also ranks fourth in school history with 703 career rebounds.  A Second Team All Mid-Continent Conference selection as a senior, she also was named to the league’s All-Freshman Team in 1998-1999.  Schober also ranks among the top-10 all-time in field goals (471) and free throws (277) made.

While at Valpo she was the recipient of the Rebecca D. Carter Memorial Award as well as the Dorothy M. McCormick Award.  An all-around student-athlete, Schober was a member of Christ College at Valpo and a three-time Academic All-District V First Team selection.

Since her graduation, Schober has been a high school mathematics and physics teacher.

The Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 6 at 3:30 p.m. in the Ballroom at the Harre Union.  The inductees will also be recognized at halftime of both the men’s and women’s basketball games on the same day.
