Valpo Women's Basketball Program to Host 16th Annual Fall Coaches Clinic

The Valparaiso University women’s basketball program will host its 16th annual Fall Coaches’ Clinic on September 24-25 at the Athletics-Recreation Center.  The event will feature four collegiate head coaches as well as the Crusader women’s coaching staff.

Sharon Versyp from Purdue University will give presentations on the 1-2-2 Matchup Zone on Friday evening.  Versyp has led the Boilermakers to a pair of NCAA Elite Eight appearances.

Aaron Johnston, South Dakota State University’s head coach, will speak on motion offense as well as discuss motion drills.  He has posted a 247-76 record in 10 seasons with the Jackrabbits.

Mike Petersen of Wake Forest University will present on high post motion as well as drills for high post motion.  In six seasons with the Demon Deacons, Peterson is the only could to guide the school to two postseason appearances.

Harry Perretta from Villanova University will speak on junk defenses as well as zone offense.  He is nearing 600 career victories and is among the top-25 winningest active collegiate coaches.

The cost of the clinic is $100 with multiple coaches from the same school eligible for various discounted prices.  There is also a one-day option for the clinic.  Early registration before September 17 will result in a $10 discount per coach.  For more information or to register, contact Marla Liesch at 219-464-5146 or Marla.Liesch@valpo.edu.
