Gerardot named HL Scholar-Athlete of the Month

Junior Tabitha Gerardot (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) has been named the Horizon League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Month for January.

On the court, Gerardot averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds per game in January. She posted four double-doubles, including a career-high 33 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Milwaukee and 26 points and 17 rebounds in a victory over Youngstown State.

Gerardot totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds against Wright State, and in doing so became the 13th Valparaiso player to score 1,000 career points. She currently sits 12th on the VU all-time scoring list with 1,061 career points.

In the classroom, Gerardot carries a 3.91 GPA while double-majoring in French and Spanish. She has begun taking graduate-level classes and is also a member of Christ College. She has earned Presidential academic honors and has also made the Dean’s List.

Gerardot has been named to Horizon League’s Academic Honor Roll for every semester since becoming eligible for the honor, and she was a member of the Horizon League All-Academic Team last year.

The Crusaders begin a two-game home stand on Saturday, when they host UIC at 1:05 p.m.
