Valparaiso (6-22, 2-13 Horizon)
at Youngstown State (19-9, 8-7 Horizon)

Game #29 - Saturday, March 7 - 1:05 p.m. CT
Beeghly Center (6,500) - Youngstown, Ohio

Next Up in Crusader Basketball: The Crusaders round out the regular season Saturday afternoon in Youngstown, Ohio in a 1:05 pm CT jump ball. Valpo’s destination for the Horizon League Tournament play-in game Monday night has yet to be determined, but the Brown and Gold can do their part to surpass last season’s win total with a victory against the Penguins. A win combined with a Cleveland State loss and a Milwaukee win would give Youngstown State the tiebreaker for third place in the league standings over the Vikings.

Last Time Out: Valpo saw a two-point halftime lead evaporate in a 70-55 loss to Oakland at the Athletics Center O'Rena Thursday night. Freshman Jasmyn Walker squeezed a career-high 15 rebounds and classmate Dani Franklin regained her early-February form, posting 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting. The Golden Grizzlies amassed 14 steals while forcing 22 Brown and Gold turnovers.

Head Coach Tracey Dorow: Tracey Dorow (23-67) is in her third season at the helm of the Valparaiso women’s basketball program in 2014-15. She collected her 250th career victory on November 14th, 2014 after a 91-57 walloping of Butler. In her first season, Dorow led the Crusaders to eleven victories overall, including five in Horizon League play. Dorow arrived in Valparaiso after 14 seasons at Ferris State. She compiled a 232-163 record while with the Bulldogs. Furthermore, Ferris State posted the #1 grade point average in all of Division II for the 1999-2000 women’s basketball season as well as the #2 ranking in 2002-03.

Series Notes: Youngstown State leads the all-time series 22-14. The Penguins have taken eight of the last nine meetings after breaking up a stretch where the Crusaders won four of five from 2008-2010. Valpo dropped the first meeting of this season two weeks ago at the Athletics-Recreation Center, 87-69.
