The Valparaiso University women’s basketball team is set for its Elite Camp, which is slated to take place on Monday, June 26 and Tuesday, June 27 at the Athletics-Recreation Center. Check in is at noon on Monday, with the camp slated to begin at 1 p.m. Checkout is at noon on Tuesday. The cost is $100 per camper. Spots are still available for the camp.


Valparaiso University to Join Missouri Valley Conference


Valparaiso University president Mark A. Heckler, Ph.D., announced today that the University has accepted an invitation to join the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, 2017. The Crusaders will begin competing for MVC championships in the 2017–2018 academic year.

Johanson Signs with Valpo Women’s Basketball


The Valparaiso University women’s basketball program has announced its newest addition as 6-foot-5 forward Nicole Johanson has signed to join the team for the 2017-18 season. Johanson enjoyed a strong senior season at Herscher High School in Herscher, Ill., earning all-tournament recognition for all three of the team’s tournaments (Thanksgiving, Christmas and conference) on her way to achieving all-area and all-conference recognition.


Konieczny Named to Indiana All-Star Team


Valparaiso University women’s basketball incoming freshman Nicole Konieczny has earned a place on the 13-player Indiana All-Star roster.The Indiana Girls All-Stars will play a home-and-home series with Kentucky, plus two games against the Indiana Junior All-Stars. All four games will take place in the month of June. One of the All-Stars will be named Indiana Miss Basketball on April 27.


Women’s Basketball Season Concludes with Loss to Top-Seeded Green Bay


After notching a first-round win on Friday, the Valparaiso University women’s basketball team ran into the top-seeded Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday afternoon, an 89-60 defeat in the Horizon League Quarterfinals. Valpo finished the year winning four of its last seven and three of its last five. The Crusaders are expected to bring back 92.1 percent of their regular season scoring for the 2017-18 season.

The Valparaiso University women’s basketball team is set for its 2016-2017 home opener, as the Crusaders welcome IU Kokomo for the first regular season home game of the year on Monday evening. In just their third year in existence, the Cougars are under the direction of former Crusader Whitney Farris, who appeared in 109 games for Valpo from 2006-2010. After Tracey Dorow made a return to trip to Illinois State on Saturday, this time the Crusaders will be the team welcoming an opposing coach back to her former school.

Freshman Addison Stoller (Cissna Park, Ill. / Cissna Park) posted Valpo’s best performance of the day, scoring nine points while hauling in seven rebounds. Crusaders Add Motherwell to Coaching Staff


Valparaiso University women’s basketball head coach Tracey Dorow announced today that John Motherwell has joined the Crusader coaching staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2016-17 campaign. Motherwell, who brings a wealth of collegiate coaching experience in the Midwest to his position on the Valpo staff, has coached 14 players during his career who have gone on to play professional basketball.


Horizon League Announces 2017 Little Caesars Motor City Madness Updates


The Horizon League Executive Council has approved a revised bracket for the 2017 Little Caesars Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships. In the new format, the women’s basketball championship will run concurrently with the men’s as “Motor City Madness” runs March 3-7, at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
