Valpo Kicks Off Music City Classic Friday

The #25 Valparaiso University bowling team kicked off its final test of the regular season on Friday, bowling on the first of three days at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn., hosted by Vanderbilt.

How It Happened

  • Valpo opened the day, contested in the five-game baker format, versus #6 Fairleigh Dickinson. The Crusaders fell to the Knights, 958-831.
  • Valpo then dropped decisions to #12 Monmouth (923-872) and #25 Saint Francis [N.Y.] (1031-851).
  • The Crusaders would rebound to close the day on a winning note, earning back-to-back victories to post a 2-3 record for the day. Valpo took down Alabama State, 855-794, before ending Friday’s action with a 781-648 win over Alabama A&M.
  • Valpo ended the day with a total pinfall of 4,190 pins to finish the day in 30th place and is less than 200 pins out of the top-25.
