Bowling Signs Alexis Roof to NLI

Valparaiso University bowling head coach Shon Washington announced today that Alexis Roof has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Valpo bowling program as a freshman for the 2019-20 campaign.

Roof has helped Kearsley [Mich.] H.S. to team state championships in each of her first three years with the Hornets. The lefty posted a 205 average last year and finished 15th at the state tournament, following a third-place finish at regionals and a runner-up finish at the conference tournament. As a freshman in 2016, Roof won the Flint Metro Conference singles title.

“I am very excited that Alexis Roof has decided to join our Valpo Bowling family beginning in the fall of 2019,” said Washington. “As a coach, you relish the opportunity to bring in athletes from historically successful programs, as they tend to understand and desire the pressure of Division I athletics. Alexis is currently a member of the five-time defending Michigan girls team state champions. I am confident she will bring the same drive and determination to our program that have made her successful as a high school athlete.”
