The Valparaiso University bowling team was well represented on the inaugural Southland Bowling League All-Academic Team, as Valpo placed a league-best six bowlers on the team, as announced by the SBL on Monday afternoon.

All honorees must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, must have completed one full academic year at their institution, and have participated in at least 50% of the team’s tournaments over the course of the season. In all, 25 student-athletes were honored on Monday by the SBL.

Valpo’s honorees consist of sophomore Mirica Yancey (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley), junior Becky Lohse (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton), senior Kendra Tryniski (Fulton, N.Y./Fulton), sophomore Payton Bertermann (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake North), sophomore Sam Perez (Aurora, Ill./Oswego East) and sophomore Hannah Forton (Macomb, Mich./Dakota).
