Crusaders Close Play at Butler Invitational

Valparaiso University wrapped up play at the Butler Fall Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. on Tuesday morning, shooting a second round score of 391 to finish at 771, placing 14th overall.

Eastern Illinois won the tournament shooting 617 with Indianapolis second five shots back on the 6,197-yard, par-72 Eagle Creek Golf Course.

Annie Nolan (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) led the Crusaders shooting 92 on day two for a 36-hole total of 183.  Kathleen Cooper (Hobart, Ind./Hobart H.S.) had the team’s second best round of the day, shooting 94, four strokes better than the first round.  Jessica O’Brien (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) finished second overall for Valpo at 190 (91-99).

Valparaiso will return to action next Monday and Tuesday, October 12-13 in Green Bay, Wis. at the Green Bay Lady Phoenix Fall Classic.
