Valpo Women Finish 10th at Falcon Invitational

Playing in their final tune-up for the Horizon League Championships, Valparaiso’s women’s golf team finished in 10th place at the BGSU Falcon Invitational which concluded on Sunday at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The Crusaders shot 378 during the final round, 15 shots better than Saturday, to finish at 771 for the tournament.

Annie Nolan (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) led the Crusaders for the second straight day, shooting 89 for a 36-hole total of 181 over the 5,901-yard, par-72 layout.  The freshman finished in a tie for 55th individually.

Jessica O’Brien (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) carded a 90 in round two, improving by six shots over her first round, to finish at 186.  Kathleen Cooper (Hobart, Ind./Hobart H.S.) added a 95 for a total of 193 while Sarah Al-Momar (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) shot 104 to finish at 211.

The Crusaders will return to action for the Horizon League Championships at Kearney Hills Golf Course in Lexington, Ky.  Saturday will consist of 36 holes with the final 18 holes held on Sunday.  Action will begin at 7 a.m. CDT each day.
