Valpo women open Indiana Invitational on Saturday
Erica Pfaender led the Crusaders at the first day of the Indiana Invitational.

Junior Erika Pfaender (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) posted back-to-back rounds of 80 on Saturday to lead the Valparaiso women’s golf team on the first day of the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.

The Crusaders are in 13th place after the first two rounds. Host Indiana is in the lead after 36 holes of play.

Pfaender is in a tie for 38th place individually with a two-round total of 160.

Juniors Kelly Voigt (Palatine, Ill./Fremd), and Brianna Davy (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) and sophomore A.J. Selig (Hortonville, Wis./Appleton West) all posted totals of 166 after 36 holes.

Valparaiso finishes up play with the final round of Indiana Invitational on Sunday.
